So i decided to do a full review on my current favorite scrub as i said on my november favorites, which is The St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I'm no longer using my clinique 7 day scrub ever since i tried this product also this one is a lot cheaper. I used to use the Apricot Scrub for the sensitive skin one from the same brand, but it didn't work that well for me, it was too gentle for my skin type.
This abrasive scrub contains Salicylic Acid which is a great ingredient to fight acne. I personally like Benzoyl Peroxide better, but this scrub works for me so i'm good.
Salicylic Acid meant for people with sensitive skin. It is a great peeling agent, though it is more gentle and lacks the oxygen to help kill acne bacteria. Now, when you're using products with Benzoyl Peroxide what you're getting is benzoic acid and oxygen. The oxygen helps killing the bacteria that contributes to acne. However benzoic acid causes skin to peel and dry, exfoliating out the plugs of dead skin and sebum that inflame follicles, causing bumbs. So if you have acne and sensitive skin, i suggest using salicylic acid not benzoyl peroxide.
Overall:
9.8/10
(+):
- Making my skin feels soft afterwards
- Parabens & Phthalates free
- Dermatologist tested
- Oil free
- Hypoallergenic
- Non-comedogenic
- Safe for normal to oily skin
- 100% natural exfoliants
- Smells really good
(-):
- Kinda hard to get in my country
BUT St. Ives products are sold in Kem&Chicks on Pacific Place (Indonesia), unfortunately they dont sell this one. But they do have the timeless cleanser, sensitive skin, and some other ones i believe. The price rage is around IDR 100k - 200k depends on which one and how big or small the product is. I think the sensitive one is IDR 140k.
So thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day. Cheerios!
