A lot of people especially beauty gurus have mentioned 'back to mac' but not all of them actually explain what it is or how it works. So i'm going to explain a little bit about it.

Back To Mac is Mac recycling program. For short, you can take 6 empty containers and trade with one Mac product. At a counter you can only trade it with lipstick, but if you go to a pro store you can get either a lipstick, an eyeshadow, or a lipglass.

FAQ:

Q: What kind of product that i can back to mac?

A: You can back to mac any PLASTIC based products. Such as Eyeshadow pot, lipstick tube, fix+, brush cleanser, foundation bottle, face wipes, etc. You cannot back to mac any wooden based products such as kohl pencils or brushes.

Q: I use flame to depot my eyeshadow, so it's melted and messed up . Can i still back to mac it?

A: YES, a lot of people get the eyeshadow (in pot) to depot it and put it in their mac palettes. It's okay if it's no longer perfect or messed up because Mac is going to melt it anyway. Also if you depot it, it means the pot no longer has the pan, it's fine. If you get turned down, GO to another mac.

Q: Can i trade my back to mac with any kind of lipstick?

A: Not really, you can get any of the regular line, but not the vivaglam. Because the profits from vivaglam is for charity.

Q:  I back to mac 6 containers and trade it for a lipstick. Can i add that lipstick to my next back to mac?

A: NO, you cant do that. Once you get a product from a back to mac, they will write a code on the label of the product and you cant back to mac it.

Q: Can i back to mac more than 6 containers at a time?

A: As in 8 or 9, no. You can back to mac 6 or 12 or 18 at a time. As long as it's a multiple of six.

So that's simply all i know. Please note that i'm not a mac pro, so this is JUST what i do know. You can go to a Mac store and ask them for further info.

One more thing, if you're from Indonesia, which i am, i dont know whether back to mac is available or not. And Mac Pro Store IS NOT available in Indonesia. Which is too bad, because i'd love to get Mac Pro products and become a pro member in the future (mac pro is simply a membership for people in beauty and fashion industry such as makeup artist, cosmetologist, fashion stylist, costume designer, photographer, etc and you can get around 40% off discount).
